Habit Tracker
At the start of 2022, I decided to make a quick and dirty habit tracker.
The tracker consists of 365 circles, the larger ones denoting—for 2022, anyways—Sundays. Each line contains three weeks worth of circles, which also happens to be roughly the amount of time it takes to root a habit in place, and when the cognitive strain of maintaining the habit starts to lessen as automaticity etches its groove into your gray matter.
The habit tracker fits on a single A4, and is intended to be printed out and put up somewhere within your daily sphere of existence. If you’re going somewhere and you want to maintain the habit: simply fold the tracker in two and stow in your luggage, or in between your laptop’s lid and its keyboard.
The tracker is most useful as a visual reminder and counter for maintaining daily habits—streaks. But you may use it in whatever way you wish. Maybe you print one for each habit you want to maintain? Or, you only fill circles when you fail. Perhaps you dash a circle once for one habit, and complete the X with another line when you have done the day’s second task.
